This is a test of the emergency Wave… something. Yeah, I got Google Wave, and yeah it’s pretty cool, and yeah, I have successfully embedded a wave that I made into the post as you can maybe see below. I don’t know if you can or not since you may need a Google Wave account in order for it to show up. If you would like to learn how to embed waves into your WordPress blog, here is a site that explains it better than I am about to.
There is a WordPress plugin called wavr, that allows you to embed waves. You just need the wave ID, which I was confused as to what that was exactly, because based on the arguments in the URL, it can be hard to tell for sure.
So after installing the wavr plugin, you can search for and install via your blog admin in the plugins section, all you have to do to embed a wave into a blog post is type:
1 | [wave id="WAVE_ID"] |
The wave ID can be found in the wave URL. For example the URL of my embedded wave is: https://wave.google.com/wave/?pli=1#restored:wave:googlewave.com!w%252BsswZTqmmG.1
The wave ID of the wave, which you can find in the URL is: googlewave.com!w%252Bo1SGBScPB
The thing that was confusing to me was the .1 at the end. I didn’t know if that was part of the wave ID or not, since I had tried to use it with and without the .1 when first doing this. Apparently it didn’t want to work the first time, because the wave below is using it WITHOUT the .1 at the end of the URL. I don’t understand why it didn’t work the first time, but all that matters is it works now.
[wave id="googlewave.com!w%252BsswZTqmmG" bgcolor="#ffffff" color="#0000ff" font_size="10" font="arial"]
This is what I have done to embed this wave.
1 | [wave id="googlewave.com!w%252BsswZTqmmG" bgcolor="#ffffff"]] |
There are other arguments that you can use with the wavr plugin, such as bgcolor, which I am using to embed this wave. For some reason the default bgcolor was bright green.
Anyways, if you don’t have Google Wave yet, and want to get an invite go comment on this post for a chance to get one!

Everyone gets sick of all the thousands of advertisements seen on the internet, on just about every website you visit, at any given time. Some advertisements are so annoying and sometimes you just want them gone. You may be one of the 58 million Firefox users that have installed the extension,
I recently came to learn how useful using the excerpt feature that is built into Wordpress. You can use excerpts if you want to show a short blurb for each post on your blog’s homepage, which I have been wanting to do on Tweeaks for a long time now I just didn’t know how to do it. Since I was doing some layout modifications, and tweaks FINALLY, I figured I should find out how to use excerpts, and I am happy I did. It’s so easy
