How To Make A Dynamic jQuery Feature Post Slider For WordPress

I finally finished getting my new custom jQuery featured post slider working as you can see in the header of the site. It took some trial and error but I eventually managed to figure out how to get it working. I ran into issues because I was first trying to use to get the posts, but then learned about WP_Query() and that solved all my problems.

Some advertisements are so annoying and sometimes you just want them gone. You may be one of the 58 million Firefox users that have installed the extension, Adblock Plus, or maybe you still use Internet Explorer for some reason, and have installed the AdblockIE. Otherwise you may use Safari, and have installed PithHelmet to block ads on your Mac. Another addon I just found out about is Adsweep, but like the others it can block a lot of ads, but not of them.

I have completed my capstone project for my final class at ITT Tech. I made another portfolio website with almost all of my work, this is now my 13th portfolio I think I have made I don’t know I lost count really. I am set to graduate on June 25th and I can’t wait another minute for it. I will be so happy to be done and out of school.

My capstone site consists of graphics, website designs, and videos that I have made for school, work, or for myself on my own time. The navigation could not be simpler with the main, sub and sidebar navigation like this page has, but the difference in the navigation is the footer has a sort of sitemap for that part of the site. There is also a sub sub navigation on each thumbnail page to navigate to specific categories. Each thumbnail and title link to a full image page that displays the full size image and description. The image and title on the full size image pages link back to the previous page.

The video pages have an embedded flash video player that I created from scratch in Flash. This is the only part of the site that I have not yet completed but it should be done very soon. The only thing I need to do is convert my video files to .flv files and then upload them.

The one thing I don’t like is that I had to make it all in basic X-HTML and CSS so that it could be put on a disk because I need to turn it into my teacher and run from a computer. I would have liked to code it with PHP, but I was told to make it in just HTML
