You probably agree that Internet Explorer 6 needs to just die already, so we can all finally move on. IE6 is a nightmare in every way imaginable. It has very poor security, and doesn’t support PNG transparency, CSS 2 or HTML 5. The day IE6 is dies would be a day of celebration and rejoicing among web designers and developers world wide. There is something that can be done to make IE6 better in the meantime though, until it’s final day of reckoning comes. Keep reading to find out what.
The fact is that there are still a very large number of people who still use IE6, and there are no signs of it going away in the near future. IE6 still holds 25% of the browser market, and has only lost 0.8% of it’s market share since August. It’s the #1 most used browser by far.
I used to wonder what was so seriously wrong with people, that so many are still using such a horrid thing, when there are so many cool new browsers available. Well, I now work at a world wide company which is pretty big, and guess what the default browser of the company is. That’s right IE6! I still can’t even believe it, and I’ve been there for over a year now, but IE6 is the browser that 90% of the employees at my work use. One of the reasons for it is our internal website will not load in any other browser but IE6, and I would assume there’s nothing that can change that otherwise I’m sure they would have done it by now. There are many companies that have invested in infrastructures that are only compatible with IE6. It would be costly to upgrade an entire company to a newer browser version.
Google developed an open-source plugin that runs inside Internet Explorer. They released Google Chrome Frame which makes developing applications easier. It is simple to use and gives people a faster and better rendering engine. You can learn more about this plugin on The Chromium Blog.
It’s nice to see that someone is finally doing something to try and make IE6 easier to deal with, since the damn thing just won’t die. What are you’re thoughts of Internet Explorer 6?

Everyone gets sick of all the thousands of advertisements seen on the internet, on just about every website you visit, at any given time. Some advertisements are so annoying and sometimes you just want them gone. You may be one of the 58 million Firefox users that have installed the extension,
I recently came to learn how useful using the excerpt feature that is built into Wordpress. You can use excerpts if you want to show a short blurb for each post on your blog’s homepage, which I have been wanting to do on Tweeaks for a long time now I just didn’t know how to do it. Since I was doing some layout modifications, and tweaks FINALLY, I figured I should find out how to use excerpts, and I am happy I did. It’s so easy
