Alright then, since you’re still reading this I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you have already joined it. So I guess I’ll make the remainder of this post worth your time and mine,
and find something kind,
of loving to say.
Cause nothing’s as great
as the things we make.
The only mistake
is NOT JOINING OUR PAGE!!

So go join it now! Okay, maybe that wasn’t worth your time, OR mine. But at least it killed some time.

People can easily overreact when they don’t know anything about this type of thing. Then there’s me who, once I heard of this s0-called virus, immediately go searching for it, or anything about it that I can find on it. It really kind of funny, that I go seek out what most everyone else tries to stay away from to avoid any of the negative effects of it. I guess I’m weird.

In the article on Mashable, Stan says,

We believe that this is merely a two part hoax: on one hand, you have a defunct application that allegedly lets you see who’s been visiting your Facebook profile – which cannot work due to Facebook’s policies, and all applications claiming to do so are scams. On the other, spammers and malicious hackers are feeding the rumors around this application to lead people to search for a solution, and getting their computers infected by malware in return.

He mentions a very good point that many people may not be aware of, which is Facebook does not allow applications to provide statistics about a person’s friends and who they interact with the most, which this application claims it does.

Here is a Youtube video I found showing what happens when you Google “Facebook Fan Check Virus”.

So anyone using Fan Check on Facebook just remove it and ignore any other applications you see that make claims to be able to tell you who visits your wall the most.
And DO NOT search for “facebook fan check virus”, because all you will get is sites containing malware, which is just as annoying and undesirable as any virus is.
