For a class I took we had to make a 30 second commercial for our final project, using the skills we learned in the class. We were supposed to incorporate certain pieces of movie footage from one of the chapters, but I sort of broke the rules and made my own thing, that didn’t include the specified footage. Unfortunately I didn’t get as good of a grade since I didn’t do what I was supposed to do, but I still passed the class, and I’m happy with the result of my project. This is a commercial that is for this website, and although this site doesn’t yet have everything that’s mentioned in the movie, I do intend to eventually have all the things the movie mentions, and more. So check it out, and let me know what you think.
Start a new document by pressing CTRL + N. I used 500 X 500 (you can make it any size),
then go to Filter -> Render -> Clouds.
Now go to Filter -> Pixelate -> Mezzotint and use the following setttings.
After that, go to Filter -> Blur -> Radial Blur and apply these settings.
Once that’s completed, go to Filter -> Stylize -> Extrude and use these settings.
Lastly, go to Hue/Saturation by pressing CTRL + U and use the following settings, you can play around with these if you want other colors.
This is how your finished background should look.
Make This Button in Just 5 Minutes With Photoshop

Start out by making a new file, press Cntrl + N and make it the default photoshop size.
Using the rounded rectangle tool with a radius of 30, drag out a rectangle the size you want you button.
Add a gradient style to it with the settings shown below

And add a 2px stroke to it, I used the color #0e9800.
Then add an inner shadow to it with the settings shown below
Next use the rounded rectangle tool with the same size radius and drag out a rectangle so it looks like this
Cntrl + Click on the vector mask thumbnail in the layers pallet to select the layer. Then press Ctrl + Shift + N to create a new layer. Press D, and then Cntrl + Backspace to fill the new layer in white. Then press Cntrl + D to deselect the layer.
You can hide the vector shape we just made now or delete it.
Now to make the layer look glossy, press Q to make a qiuck mask, and then G to use the Gradient tool. And use the Foreground to Background gradient. Drag the gradient from top to bottom on the white layer and it should look like this
Quick Mask
Then press Q again to make the selection and hit Delete to make the fade to transparent. Then Cntrl + D to deselect the layer.
And thats it!
Your button should look something like what I have below.

Today I was bored at work, and I didn’t really know what else to do, nor did I really want to do anything. I’m sure everyone knows what that’s like. So This morning I decided to make a little Photoshop of the thing I was looking at, my computer screen. I think it came out looking pretty good. Do you agree? Leave me a comment if you have any questions, or feedback about this image. I don’t really know what else to say here, other than I am still bored. But I should be doing some work, I just don’t want to. So until next time…
Anyone who wants to request a tutorial on how to make something, please don’t hesitate to ask. Just post a comment or send me and email.
