In the design world, there are always new and different design trends, that can appear out of nowhere, and pass just as quickly. Smashing Magazine talks about how the Web 2.0 style of web design, glossy buttons; bold colors; reflections; large fonts; and rounded corners;, was a very popular design style and you could see these elements on websites all over the internet. Though, Web 2.0 is beginning to fade away. “Web 2.0 style is all about glossy and shiny look, another option would be something rather crude, radical and provoking. Such as the grunge style — dirty look with irregular, nasty, sometimes even ugly and crooked visual elements” – Smashing Magazine. I couldn’t put it any better way. Grunge is almost the total opposite of Web 2.0. It will be interesting to see, as Web 2.0 fades, whether Grunge will be just another fad, that designers start doing because it’s the “in” thing to do.

It’s funny because I started making this post with intentions to have just Grunge text effect tutorials, but then as the list grew, I accidently started adding non-text effect tutorials.
